Places for People is a national group of housing providers with a combined housing stock in excess of 60000 homes. The largest company within the group, and our main client, is North British Housing with a stock of 46000 dwellings.
In 2002 Herbert T Forrest was selected as one of three regional construction partners for the North West. Our company was chosen for our refurbishment experience and to date we have completed numerous schemes ranging from a major re-roofing scheme of 300 dwellings in Chorley to the complete refurbishment and conversion of a large house into six self-contained apartments for special needs clients in Clitheroe. Most of the schemes undertaken for Places for People are elemental in nature and include window renewal, kitchen refurbishment and central heating installations to smaller estates and sheltered housing developments
Working in sheltered housing and special-needs dwellings requires a very sympathetic approach in terms of customer care and our company has developed a number of initiatives to provide appropriate levels of care in these circumstances.
