Fusion 21 is a Strategic partnership between Knowsley and St Helens Metropolitan Borough Councils and seven RSL’s from the Merseyside area. The partnership aim is to improve the housing stock of the participating organisations over a seven year period with a potential total spend of £192 million while at the same time seeking a solution to the shortage of skilled construction labour in the Merseyside area, through training initiatives.
Herbert T Forrest was selected from a long list of interested contractors to undertake kitchen refurbishment and window installation work-streams. The partnership is in its infancy and initially we are working with Helena Housing Association. Our first year’s programme includes 300 kitchens and 8000 windows with a programmed increase to 1300 kitchens and 20000 windows per annum by year three. It is anticipated that over time we will also be working for other organisations within the strategic partnership.
