Testimonials

See what our customers and clients have to say about the quality of workmanship from H T FORREST Ltd.
Contract: Coppull Primary School and Children's Centre
Now the new Children'sCentre building has been formally handed over, we would like to place on record our sincere thanks for the outstanding building we have been given.
The whole team is to be congratulated on working well together and with school to ensure that the building meets with our every requirement. We are also pleased with the finished building and the quality of workmanship, and importantly how hard everyone has worked to keep the project on time.
In particular we would like to formally record our thanks to Richard Standing and Trevor Aldred who have worked so hard to ensure everything has run so smoothly. They have maintained a high level of professionalism throughout in their relationships with school staff. They have been courteous on all occasions and have ensured any concerns have been dealt with promptly. Their communications skills have been excellent. They have been very alert to any health and safety issues - this is crucial when you have young children in close proximity to building work.
As a school we have had experience of working with many building contractors over the years. The success of any project lies with the close co-operation and understanding of the specific requirements of working in a school setting. At the outset we asked that a site manager be appointed who was able to be in tune with a school setting and who would have daily contact with school staff. Trevor has met and far exceeded our expectations. Both he and Richard are strong ambassadors and real assets to your company.
We have recommended your company most highly to Lancashire County Council and Sure Start, and would be more than happy to work with you again in the future.
Yours sincerely
Mrs J Stallard, Headteacher
and Mr Richard Toon, Chair of Governors

Dear Sir,
Re:- 63 Dwelling Collier Brook Mealhouse Court Atherton
It is with great pleasure that I write you to express my appreciation of the work executed by your men at the above mentioned contract.
They have worked extremely hard all the time they have been here during all the very bad weather that has persisted throughout their stay.
Not only that but they have been extremely well mannered to all us old people, helping us where possible cleaning up thoroughly after their days work. They have been a credit to Messrs H T Forrest, unusual in this day and age.
I can speak on this subject of refurbishment to quite a large degree having myself worked within the building industry for thirty years or more on and off site as a QS and Chief Purchasing Officer for a number of the large building companies that were at that time.
It has certainly been a pleasure seeing good men at work.
Hope you do not mind my comments.
Kind regards
Yours sincerely
E Cheetham (Mrs)
Contract:Lancashire County Council, Extension and Alterations to Gibfield School, Nelson.
Dear Mr Forrest
I would like, on behalf of the staff a Gibfield and the Governors, to convey our appreciation of the work recently carried out at school.
All the staff where impressed at the professional way the task was undertaken. It was always obvious that progress was being made and all the tradesmen involved were always working hard. What was particularly pleasing was the way in which the staff and the contractors developed a very good working relationship thus ensuring a smooth operation with minimal disruption.
We would in particular like to single out Harry who kept us all informed and co-ordinated the operation. Everyone who met him was very impressed with his friendly approach and business-like attitude to the tasks in hand. It is true to say he enhanced the reputation of your company very greatly, not just from school’s perspective, but also with county officials who worked with him. It is unusual for such work to go on without tears and we are all grateful that the quality of work was enhanced with quality management.
I would be grateful if you would pass on our thanks to those involved, especially Harry.
Yours sincerely

Dear Sir
I would like to express my very grateful thanks to your two workmen, who came to work on the above property on Tuesday.
I was quite ill when they came, and I can only thank them, for their perfect workmanship, and the equally perfect kindness, which they showed to me. Anything they could do to help was willingly done, with no fuss.
I can only say that if the rest of your staff is the same, you must have the BEST workforce in Britain.
Happy Christmas and many thanks again.
Mrs Lucy Williams

Dear Mr Henderson
I write this letter at the risk of giving you a heart attack, to compliment you on your choice of the firm fitting Double Glazing.
Since I have been a tenant of Wyre Borough, these are without doubt the reincarnation of the old type tradesmen, who not only know their job but take a pride in doing it well.
It is great to see a spirit level being used, every step of the way. Some of the Cowboys we have had in the past, don’t know what a spirit level is.
I must also compliment you on the choice of doors. The three point locking system is a welcome security point to some of the old dears who obviously get worked up at some of the news in the papers and on television and it is hoped that the main doors, still to be fitted give us the same degree of security, so that we all sleep more safely in our beds at night.
Please convey on behalf on your tenants in the Oak Road set up, our sincere thanks to the firm doing the double glazing, for all their help replacing curtains etc, and in particular for their courtesy and cheery attitude whilst doing the job.
Whilst I take a delight in writing a letter like this it does not meant I have forgotten how to write the other type.
Yours sincerely

Just recently the above firm replaced the window at Chatsworth Resource Centre. The workmen were very polite, kept me informed at all times of where they would be working next in the building, hard working and highly competent. Because of all this the work was carried out with the minimum of fuss and minimum inconvenience to our service users. I cannot praise them highly enough.

FDG Testimonials
Extract from Twin Valley Homes Newletter
Somebody out there loves us (and FDG!)
First up this month, a big thank you to Liz Haydon and FDG for the recent kitchen refurbishments at Gleneagles Court. Four residents have written in praise of the work, which Liz led on. They also thank foreman Gary, from FDG, for his help and patience. They say their new kitchens are a joy to work in, thanks to you!
The residents of Barlow Court wrote into thank us and FDG for the recent refurbishments. Dave Beesley led from TVH and Kevin the site manager, Les and Lloyd from FDG also came in for loads of praise, (Lloyd for his singing). Thanks to all involved for another job well done. The only thing the residents want now is for their rents not to be put up!
In a similar vein, an individual resident at Barlow Court rang us to thank Jess Banks, FDG and everyone else involved, saying ‘it’s a privilege to live in a Twin Valley Homes flat’. That’s brilliant, particularly as I’m told this gentleman doesn’t give praise lightly!
Fleetwood Close residents sent a thank you card to Jude Hill to thank her for helping with their fund raising event, which reached its target, meaning that all the children of Fleetwood Close could be taken to Southport Pleasure Beach. Well done Jude!
A tenant from Woodlea Road rang to thank Julie Wade and Patrick Wright for their help. She had had a gas fire fitted but couldn’t really operate the controls due to her condition, despite efforts from Paddy. He and Julie then arranged to swap the fire for an electric one, which she can operate with ease. Understandably, she was delighted with the help and support given to her, so thanks to both of you for solving her problems.
The team at Meadowhead Close and Lesley Smith received a card from a tenant at Young Street, full of glowing praise. The tenant said her beautiful home had changed her life and she was delighted by all the kindness, hard work and courtesy she received, every time she made contact. Thanks to you all for maintaining your usual high standards.
Debbie Walton received a letter of thanks from Ann Haggie from the support agency Main Stay. Main Stay help people with various difficulties get back into main stream living and Debbie has provided a great deal of help with a number of tenants, so thanks very much for this valuable work.

Dear Tim
I am writing on behalf of all our resident, and committee to thank you, and all your workforce also, your sub contractors for doing such a fantastic job with our bathrooms.
We were very impressed with Simon Gornall, the site manager, and Kevin, the assistant site manager, who organised the sub contractors work.
Also how a continuation of work was carried out by all the work force on site. We would like to mention the individual contractors, these being as follows Norris Electrical – Paul and Tony, Sephtons Plumbers – Neil, Ric and Gary, Tilers – Mark, Joe, K Hindle, Decorators - Bill and Tony, also the Floor Layers – John and Shaun, also your Joiners – Les, Dave, Jake, Dave Pemberton and Danny the labourer.
Everyone has worked extremely hard; I can assure you there was no messing about.
So again on behalf of our tenants, we would like to thank the subcontractors for doing a great job.
Also I do believe that our tenants co-operated very well with the work force under the circumstances.
We also think that most tenants would have you back again to any other major work if and when required.
So once again we would like to thank you all for doing such a great job and wish you every success for the future.
Yours sincerely
Mr A Lancaster
Chairman of Greenfield Court Residents’ Association.
